SPECIAL RECRUITMENT DRIVE FOR SC/ST

IIT Kharagpur, an Institute of national importance, invites applications from Indian Nationals for the following posts :

1. Assistant Registrar : Scale of Pay Rs. 8000-275-13500/- : 1 post (SC)

Qualification & Experience : A postgraduate degree with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade. Minimum 8 years of administrative experience out of which 5 years should be in a supervisory capacity.

Desirable : Experience in Finance & Accounts, Establishment, Computer System & Applications.

2. Technical Assistant : Scale of Pay Rs. 5500-175-9000/- : 7 posts ( 2 - SC, 5 - ST)

Qualification & Experience : M. Sc. in appropriate specialization/B. Tech/BE/ OR B.Sc. with 2 years relevant experience OR MCA with one year experience. Knowledge of computer applications is essential. Relevant experience means working experience in any one or more of the fields of Physics / Chemistry / Electronics/ Electrical/Civil/Chemical/Computer Science/Mechanical/Geology/Mining/ Building Science/ Architecture/Graphic Design/Biotechnology/Information Technology.

3. Junior Laboratory Assistant : Scale of pay Rs. 3200-85-4900/- : 2 posts (1 - SC, 1 - ST)

Qualification & Experience : Bachelor's Degree OR Diploma in Engineering of three years duration in appropriate specialization. Knowledge of computer applications is essential.

The qualification and experience prescribed are the minimum and mere possession of the same does not entitle a candidate to be called for Interview. However, the selection committee in respect of exceptionally meritorious candidates may consider relaxation in experience criteria.

Candidates possessing the requisite qualifications and experience may submit their application on plain paper to the Assistant Registrar (R), IIT Kharagpur, Pin - 721302 so as to reach the Institute on or before 20.6.2006 furnishing details of educational qualification, experience with the name(s) of the organization(s) served, post held, scale of pay, present gross salary etc. All the posts are governed by new pension scheme. The reservation for physically challenged persons will be as per Government of India rules.
